Reading this page means you are curious to find out more about me, my adventures and the things I like. It also means you are on the first step of the feverish path to internet stalking. But hey! That's fine by me. I've got enough love for everybody. (click on an image to go directly to its website).

Well the biggest loves of my life are the wife (but she hasn't got a website) and Doctor Who (click pic to visit his dimension).

My all time hero and mentor, Tom Baker, yep the curly haired chap with the long scarf and mad bulging eyes, whose magnetic eccentricity inspired me to pick up a pen and write in the first place. If, like me, the police box nomad of time and space shaped your universe, then you should visit his website.

Check out the hilarious show Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf, which if you are a geek like me will be like watching or listening to your whole life unfold in front of you.

My footballing allegiances belong to the mighty Shrimpers, Southend United.

I've also got a soft spot for Scottish team Stenhousemuir. I even splashed out a whole £10 on their Ochilview Park main stand fundraiser once. Apparently, my name is engraved on the bricks.

Other things I like are Twin Peaks.

And of course the master of all things dark and confusing, but somehow comforting, David Lynch.

I am a big film fan and have too many favourites to list, but one which really amazed me recently was Pan's Labyrinth. An absolute mindblower!

My musical tastes also come in many varied flavours, ranging from Johnny Cash and Billy Bragg to Queen, the Stone Roses, Gomez, Pink Floyd, New Order and the Killers.
The best rock 'n' roll band to grace the airwaves Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere are Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, whose live shows are second to none.

Also top of the charts is the monkey king genius of Ian Brown.

A man who shares my love of wooly hats is Badly Drawn Boy.

Also have a listen to Captain.

My favourite night spot is the dirtiest, darkest and best indie club ever in existence, the Pink Toothbrush

Cycling resources I found indispensable when writing Cycling Back to Happiness were the official North Sea Cycle Route site, Sustrans, and CTC.
Another great cycling site is the London Cycling Campaign and a lively social network for two wheeled folk is Me And My Bicycle.
The friendliest bike shop in the universe is Richardson's Cycles in Leigh on Sea.
One of my most favourite places, discovered writing Cycling Back to Happiness, is the most chilled out island in the world, let alone the Netherlands, the Frisian utopia of Texel.

The German island of Sylt,a holiday haven for jet setting millionaires, late night party seekers and people who just want to take their clothes off for an all over tan, is a great place to spend a few days.

And don't forget to visit the Wunderbar for a few drinks.

Also, discover the teller of many magical tales, Ribe, in Denmark, the oldest preserved town in all of Scandinavia. The wonderful people at the immaculate Danhostel have their own website, where the amazing Gudrun Rishede has filed reports on most of the fantastic stories of witches, pirates, Vikings and old kings and queens. They've even got a picture of little old me.

When you are tackling the great outdoors, make sure to check out the wide range of kit offered by Regatta, whose clothing really is a great ally when it comes to keeping out the elements.

Another bunch of lovely people worth visiting in the keeping warm on the road business are Smartwool.com, who can kit you out in everything from a pair of snug mittens to baselayers, hats and scarves.

Before setting out on your own adventures have a good look at the legendary Michael Palin's website.

Please help the charity closest to my heart, Cancer Research UK, and the easiest way to do that is by organising an event through Justgiving.

For a unique brand of crazy t-shirts, with a very clever and funny modern design on old Eighties icons like Bod, Rainbow and Sesame Street, plus poltical and musical satire, visit the SkinnyMan18 shop.

Also thanks to Mint Graphics for producing this website.
